Best Picture, Director, Cinematography and  Original screenplay! Alejandro G. Iñárritu's 'Birdman' won almost every big award at this year's Oscars. While he has been nominated once before for 'Babel, this was the first time Inarritu won the Oscar for the best director.

Inarrittu started as a theatre student before turning to films. His debut feature film 'Amores Perros' won critical acclaim, winning at the Cannes Critic's Week and getting nominated for the best foreign film at the Oscar's. Since then he's gone on to make such brilliant films as 21 Grams, Babel, Biutiful, and now 'Birdman'. Every movie radically different from the rest.

He's used his theatre roots and experience to tell the unique story of an ageing ex-Hollywood superstar struggling with waning fame, debilitating insecurity & bloated ego.

In this interview he talks with David Poland of DP/30, about his journey, his depression leading to Birdman, the production, and more.
