After going through a rough patch, a successful crowdfunding campaign helped to resurrect the River To River Florence Indian Film Festival last year and find its lost glory. One of the longest running and most prominent international festivals that celebrates Indian cinema, the River to River Florence Indian Film Festival (R2RFIFF) is back with its 16th edition.
The 16th R2RFIFF is set to take place from 3rd to 8th December this year and is currently seeking submissions for the same.
Started in 2001, the River to River Florence Indian Film Festival has grown over the years and gained awareness among the audience and the Indian film industry. The event offers a unique chance for every resident and tourist (in Florence) to have a taste of the Indian heritage through its cinema, art exhibitions, food items and much more.
Scheduled to kick-off on the 3rd of December, the festival offers not only films but also conducts audience interaction sessions that aim to foster an interest and promote cultural understanding. Indian director Deepa Mehta was the special guest at the previous edition of the festival. Last year's edition of the festival also saw Sharat Katariya, Prawaaal Raman and Suman Ghosh among other filmmakers attending the festival. The festival is held in Florence, Italy every year.
Last date for submission is September 15, 2016.
