Call For Entries: Submissions Open For DocedgeKolkata Asian Documentary Forum 2016!

Entries are open for the DocedgeKolkata, Asian Forum for Documentary 2016 edition. DocedgeKolkata is an intensive training and pitching initiative for documentary filmmakers of Asia. It's a platform for filmmakers, where they can receive rigorous training and mentoring on their current creative projects, before they can pitch them to a panel of international broadcasters. The event will take place from 29th February to 6th March 2016.

What It's All About

DocedgeKolkata is an international documentary event attended by various noted documentary filmmakers from all over the world. Also, several foundations and broadcasters are invited to attend the event to be able to explore co-production opportunities for independent documentary filmmakers.

There are also screenings, seminars and masterclasses conducted by renowned filmmakers, where the focus is on intensive mentoring.

Deadlines

The last date of online submission is 15th Dec, 2015.

The Demand Drafts of the fees should reach the official address latest by 20th Dec, 2015 (For Indian Applicants)

Rules & Regulations

General Guidelines

  1. Submission of the sample audio clip: Being a key element to assess the project, the audiovisual clip is mandatory. It can be a trailer, a part of a scene. The clip must not exceed 3 mins.In exceptional cases where an audiovisual clip sample is not available, a clip from the director’s previous work must be provided as a visual reference. However, submitting an audiovisual trailer from the current project is strongly recommended.
  2. Submission Process For the Audiovisual clip: The clip needs to be uploaded on Vimeo/ YouTube and a link along with a password needs to be furnished in the respective section of the form. You need to ensure that your link is password-protected and that it remains active till the end of the selection process.
  3. Maximum of two persons can apply per project. However, each individual has to submit a separate form but with the same project title.
  4. Applications once submitted cannot be edited further.
  5. Incomplete applications or forms not submitted within the due date will be automatically ineligible for entry.
  6. A photo of the director/producer and one still from the current project (Jpeg, 300 dpi) needs to be uploaded.
  7. The Demand Draft details are mandatory and are to be furnished in the payments section of the application form, failing which one will not be able to submit the form. So, keep the draft ready before you submit the form online.

Entry Fees

For Indian Applicants: Applicants from India need to send the application fees of INR 1,000 as a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Documentary Resource Initiative payable at Kolkata.

For International Applicants: International applicants need not send any fees at the time of online submission.

After selection, once the applicant confirms his/ her participation for the workshop, the requisite fees need to be paid at the time of Workshop Registration.
