Screenwriting is about consistency, practice and craft as much as it is about spontaneity and creativity. It is an enriching experience to read and analyse the screenplay of the films you love and understand the effort that went behind writing it. An aspiring screenwriter can learn a lot about the style, structure, characterisation and formatting by reading screenplays.

However one can often feel lost while searching for scripts online. And the question of authenticity of the source also persists when you do find one. Thanks to Scott Myers' screenwriting blog Go Into The Story’s annual upload of screenplays of several films that are in the award race, aspiring screenwriters as well as film aficionados can get a chance to read the best scripts of recent times.

Initiated by the screenwriter Scott Myers, Go Into The Story - the screenwriting blog of The Blacklist is a great resource blog for those keen to know more about the craft of screenwriting and its process.

As the award season beckons, studios and production houses publish the PDF versions of their movie scripts online. Go Into The Story posts links to these scripts as and when they become available for public access. The scripts are added to their Movie Script Download archive. All of these scripts are official, free, legal and uploaded for educational purposes.
