The Magic Of VFX : How VFX Helped Make 'Vishwaroopam' A Visual Spectacle!

When it comes to his performances, Kamal Hassan is known to push himself to levels that few Indian actors do. This quest for perfection is especially seen in the films directed by him. Though Hassan has directed very few films, they have often pushed the envelope with regards to the subjects they have tackled and he spares no effort when it comes to executing them. His last directorial venture Vishwaroopam (dubbed in Hindi as Vishwaroop) was no exception.

The film, which also stars Rahul Bose, Jaideep Ahalwat and Shekhar Kapur is an ambitiously mounted espionage thriller set in multiple locations across the globe. The film was particularly noted for its production design, slick visuals and the meticulously staged action sequences. The film and its action scenes derived much of their visual flair from the VFX, whose execution matched the film's larger than life scale.

We came across a video which shows how the National award winning artist N Madhusudhanan along with a host of others executed the VFX of the film. They deserve our applause for flawlessly executing the VFX in various scenes, including the ones in which Kamal Hassan spends time as a terrorist in disguise at an Al-Qaeda training camp.
