Festival Deadlines in June - Fests You Should Send Your Film To This Month!

If you have made a film and want to submit it to festivals then look no further. Here is a list of film festivals you should apply to this month. All these festivals have deadlines that are closing in June. So hurry up and submit your film(s) right now.

Los Angeles International Short Film Festival

Rated as one of the most prestigious international short film festivals, the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival (also known as L.A Shorts Fest), showcases some of the most interesting short films belonging to diverse genres. The previous editions of the festival has featured as many as 15 Oscar winning short films including Bear Story - this year's Oscar winner for Best Animated Short.

Festival date: 3rd to 10th Sep 2016

Submission Deadline: 10th June 2016 (Regular Deadline)

Chicago International Film Festival

The Chicago International Film Festival showcases an impressive selection of films from across the globe with an intent to celebrate promising filmmaking talents and give them a platform to exhibit their works. Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's Amores Perros, Mrinal Sen's Khandhar, Jafar Panahi's Crimson Gold and Leos Carax's Holy Motors are some of the films showcased in previous editions of the festival and have won the Gold Hugo - the grand prize of the festival.

Festival date: 13th to 27th Oct 2016

Submission Deadline: 17th June 2016 (Regular Deadline)

Vancouver International Film Festival

Founded in 1982, the Vancouver International Film Festival has established itself as one of the largest and most successful film festivals in North America. The 16 day annual festival showcases more than 300 short and feature films from across 70 countries. Denis Villeneuve's Incendies, Asghar Farhadi's A Separation and John Crowley's Brooklyn are some of the most interesting and much talked about films showcased in the previous editions of the festival.

Zurich Film Festival

Since its inception in the year 2005, the Zurich Film Festival has emerged as one of the most prestigious film festivals globally. By providing avenues for screening, marketing, distribution, audience interaction etc. the festival aims to provide a platform for established and emerging film making talents in the German market.

Festival date: 22nd Sep to 2nd Oct 2016

Byron Bay International Film Festival

Known as Australia's largest film festival, the Byron Bay International Film Festival has established itself as a festival of immense international repute. The festival’s series of awards recognize excellence in film for various categories such as features, shorts, documentary, music videos and animation.

Festival date: 14th to 23rd Oct 2016

Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival

Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival showcases documentaries of different genres and duration from around the world and is a certified Academy-Award qualifying festival. Listed by the MovieMaker Magazine in its list of “50 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee”, the festival enters its 25th edition this year.

Festival date: 7th to 16th Oct 2016

Submission Deadline: 15th June 2016 (Late Deadline)

Final Deadline: 1st July 2016

Atlanta Film Festival

Held in Atlanta, Georgia. The Atlanta Film Festival is one of the largest and longest-running festivals in the U.S. The festival is also an Oscar qualifying festival and showcases more than 200 new independent, international, animated, documentary and short features amongst other genres and categories.

Festival date: 24th March to 2nd April 2017

Submission Deadline: 30th June 2016 (Earlybird Deadline)
