This Cute Disney Love Story Won The Oscar For Best Animated Short Film!

‘Feast’ is a cute love story of a man as seen through the eyes of his dog. Feast is the debut film of Patrick Osborne who has worked as an animator on Bolt, Wreck It Ralph, Tangled and the Oscar winning animated short Paperman.

Feast was released in theatres as a short preceding ‘Big Hero 6′ which won the Oscar for the best animated feature film.

Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press 1 by Ellen Gooseberg Kent

The documentary profiles the lives of veteran crisis line counsellors who provide support and guidance to active and retired servicemen of the U.S  army to overcome their emotional, physical and financial troubles.

This is director Ellen Gooseberg Kent’s first Oscar win. She has won multiple Emmy awards for her television features such as ‘Alive Day: Memories From Iraq’, ‘I Have Tourette’s But Tourette’s Doesn’t Have Me’ and ‘How Do You Spell God’.

Best Live Action Short Film

The Phone Call – Mat Kirkby

The life of a helpline employee changes after she receives a phone call from a mysterious man. ‘The Phone Call’ stars Sally  Hawkins (Blue Jasmine, Godzilla) and Jim Broadbent (Cloud Atlas, Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince)

This is the first Oscar win for director Mat Kirkby who has previously directed Strangers – a short documentary on the popular rock band Keane.
