Placebo is one of the best documentary films to have come out of India in recent times. It brings to light the chilling world inside the revered walls of one of the most competitive institutions in the world— All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. A social experiment, as the director calls it, the film has been screened in many international film festivals across the world and has won critical acclaim.
Kumar had earlier made award-winning short films like Just That Sort of a Day, which won the 2nd prize at Busan & National Award for best narration in a non-feature film.
