The Sarajevo Film Festival 2015 has unveiled its full line-up. The festival, founded in 1995 is the premier and largest film festival in Southeast Europe. Scheduled to run from 14th to 22nd August, the festival focuses on the cinema from South-East Europe (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, Romania, & others), shining an international spotlight on films, talent and future projects from the region.
Two films with Indian connections have been selected for the festival this year. Maria Ripoll's Traces Of Sandalwood has been selected under 'Operation Kino'. The film follows two separated sisters — one awash in the colorful melodrama of Bollywood, the other locked in the sterility of a biology lab in Barcelona. The movie stars Nandita Das, Aina Clotet, Naby Dakhli, Subodh Maskara, Vaibhavi Hankar, Rosa Novell. Check out the official trailer of the film below.
The second movie that has been selected is Danis Tanović's Tigers. Tigers is about a Pakistani salesman challenging the system after he discovers the ill-effects of a pharmaceutical multi-national's baby formula. The film starring Emraan Hashmi, Geetanjali, Danny Huston, Khalid Abdalla, Adil Hussain, has been selected for the Open Air Programme. Here's a clip from the film.
